Company Structure

Coenie Bezuidenhout

With almost three decades in the property industry, Coenie heads up the Commercial developments division which includes Industrial, Mixed-Use, Office & Retail projects. A specialist in the development of large-scale precincts, Coenie has been involved in creating the likes of Waterfall City in Midrand (Johannesburg), the Mandela Development Corridor in the Pretoria CBD, as well as Newtown Junction in the Jo’burg Central Business District.

Before co-founding SOM, Coenie was a director and shareholder of Atterbury Property Developments from 2003 to 2017.

Robert Lowdon

After spending several years in structured and asset-based finance at FirstCorp Merchant Bank and then at Coronation Capital, Rob went on and co-founded South Point, the first significant player to enter the South African student accommodation arena.

As CEO of South Point he grew its student accommodation to around
10 000 beds. After selling out of South Point, Rob’s focus has been on the development of affordable residential rental stock.

Rob’s understanding of aspirational but affordable living, led him to co-founding SOM.

Mike Krzychylkiewicz

With over 25 years in corporate finance and deal making in both the listed and unlisted space, Mike has built a strong network within South African and international blue-chip corporates, private equity funds as well as large family investment offices.

From 2006 to 2016, Mike was a partner at PwC and headed up the Mergers & Acquisitions department. In 2016, he joined Deloitte Capital as CEO and steered both the M&A and Debt Advisory teams. He led various property projects for both PwC and Deloitte, which culminated in the development of their respective new South African head offices.

Mike co-founded the SOM and in June 2020, joined the business in a full time capacity.
